Jean Yip's 30th Anniversary Celebration at the Loft!
Yesterday,
Sarah and I went for Jean Yip's 30th Anniversary celebrations held at
the Jean Yip Loft. I've never been there before, so Sarah and I met up
first to head there together. The theme was smart casual with a hint of
pearls?? I was stumped. I figured I would just wear something that's not
too casual and not too formal... and remember to have some pearls
somewhere. Haha.
Snapped some pictures of the area around it! :)
When
Sarah and I met, it was POURING. Like raining cats, dogs, bulls,
turtles, EVERYTHING! Luckily she managed to get a cab and by the time we
got out it was just drizzling slightly. I was really grateful that I
decided not to wear my stilettos at the last minute.
It was
6pm. The invitation said 6.30pm but the reminder email said 7pm. Sarah
thought it started at 6. I remembered it was 7. We were an hour early!!
We decided to just walk into a random cafe to have a drink or a snack
because I was getting hungry.
Our first date! :P
I think we
stumbled upon a popular restaurant, because the waiter looked surprised
that it was my first visit when I asked him for recommendations.
Anyway, we reached the event at 714pm! Fashionably late. It was 3/4 full
by the time we got there!
The emcee!
Giving an opening speech
Performance by Jean Yip's daughter, Sheryl. She's launching her new album this month so she sang a few songs from it.
Popping
the champagne! We were all worried that the cork was going to come
flying at us. Luckily they aimed at the ceiling. Well I guess what goes
up eventually has to come down but.. we didn't get hit :D
Side note: I think Sarah suits curls!! She looks super radiant in the peach top + curls + amazing make up!
Went there and bumped into Tiffy and Peggy and was introduced to Sabrina!
My outfit
for the night: an electric blue dress I got from one of the shops at
Palais Renaissance quite a while ago, Pearl necklace + pearl stud
earrings, along with my Casio Sheen watch!
After the opening speech we were brought to the buffet dinner spread!
After eating we wanted to explore the building so we headed to level 2!
Grabbing a glass of champagne.
Tiffy!
Peggy!
Looked very posh and nice!
Polaroids!
So we sat on level 2 for quite some time cam whoring.
Pics below were taken from the lovely, Sarah!
Her photos from her new cam came out super nice!! Nikon ftw.
I think my
Casio Sheen watch matches shades from Winter best! Meaning, electric
blue, fuchsia, bright red, black, purple etc! I also wear yellow,
oranges and rust red quite often so these colours match other Casio
Sheen watches that have a tinge of yellow in them :)
Can't wait to wear my Sheen to more events!
Til then,
