How to have a better day ahead when you wake up on your Sealy
You know those days when you wake up just feeling grumpy and out of sorts, and somehow it affects your mood for the rest of the day?Well, YOU have control over how you feel, and adding these little routines to your morning can set the tone for your day.
Before I go to sleep at night, I make sure I use hydration products to keep my skin moisturized during the night. I crawl into my Sealy, hug my bolster, and sleeeeeeep.
Here are some tips on how to have a happy, calm day starting from the moment you wake up. Remember that it's a private time you should have that is 100% focused on you :)
1. Snooze
Tell yourself that you're allowed to snooze once a day. And make sure it's only once. If you feel really groggy in the morning, try the SleepCycle app for the iPhone which measures your sleep cycle and wakes you up at the lightest point of your sleep!
2. Try to visualize what you dreamt about
I do this in the morning and it helps me remember my dreams! Then I'll either type it out on my phone or write it on a rough piece of paper. Dreams are a reflection of your subconscious and can reveal what's actually lurking in your mind that you've tried to forget or push aside. It's eerily accurate.
Unless you had a nightmare, then by all means, skip this for the day.
3. Draw the curtains/Turn on the light
This will wake your brain and force your body to be alert!
4. Don't reach for the phone just yet!
5. Stretch and give a bigggg yawn
This increases your flexibility, improves circulation and relieves tension. So I say, why not???
